Heliocentric astrology

The Greek language word "helios" means the Sun.

Heliocentric Astrology draws birth charts with the Sun at the center, and the planets are placed around the cartwheel in the positions that they would appear if someone looked at them from the center of the Sun.

Ancient world

Babylonian astrology was the first organised system of astrology, arising in the second millennium BC.

There is speculation that astrology of some form appeared in the Sumerian period in the 3rd millennium BC, but the isolated references to ancient celestial omens dated to this period are not considered sufficient evidence to demonstrate an integrated theory of astrology.

The history of scholarly celestial divination is therefore generally reported to begin with late Old Babylonian texts (c. 1800 BC), continuing through the Middle Babylonian and Middle Assyrian periods (c. 1200 BC).

Early origins

Astrology, in its broadest sense, is the search for meaning in the sky.

It has been argued that astrology began as a study as soon as human beings made conscious attempts to measure, record, and predict seasonal changes by reference to astronomical cycles

Natal astrology

The important features of every chart that the astrologer must give special attention to are the positions of the sun and moon by sign and house; the sign on the ascendant, and the planet that rules that sign, called the ascendant ruler or chart ruler.

Also important is the first planet to occupy the first, second, or third houses after the ascendant.

Called the rising planet it will be particularly strong in the chart.

If no planet occupies the first three houses, then a planet in the twelfth house close to the ascendant can be taken to be the rising planet.

Planets that are in conjunction to (right beside) the primary angles of ascendant, midheaven, descendant, or IC (known as angular planets) must also be especially considered.

Modern planets

These are the planets discovered in modern times, which have since been assigned meanings by Western astrologers.

Uranus: Modern ruler of the zodiac sign Aquarius.

Neptune: Modern ruler of the zodiac sign Pisces.

Pluto: Modern ruler of the zodiac sign Scorpio.

Ceres: Some astrologers consider this dwarf planet entity the modern ruler of the zodiac sign Virgo or Taurus. Nevertheless, for other Western astrologers, Ceres will never be used.

Additional classifications

While knowing the element and quality of a sign is sufficient to define it, several other groupings[citation needed] can be used for those interested in better understanding their symbolism. The most common is a sequential cycle detailed behttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.giflow.[citation needed] Although most commonly used to define planets, it is valid for signs as well. This cycle has been used as a metaphorical descriptor of the process of birth, development, and death, of humans, societies, or even humanity.[Birth Chart]

Personal Signs - Aries, Taurus, Gemini, and Cancer

The Tropical Zodiac Primary Factors: These factors were presented by Dane Rudhyar in his book "Astrological Signs - The Pulse of Life, and are used in the curriculum of the RASA School of Astrology.

The tropical zodiac is the zodiac of seasonal factors as opposed to the sidereal zodiac of constellation factors. The primary seasonal factors are based on the sunlight. In fact the tropical zodiac could be defined as the changing ratio of light and darkness across the year.

First factor: Half of the year daylight is increasing, and the other half darkness is increasing.

Second factor: Half of the year there is more daylight than darkness, and the other half there is more darkness than daylight.

Third Factor: the four seasons. Winter: Daylight is increasing and there is more darkness than daylight. Spring: Daylight is increasing and there is more daylight than darkness Summer: Darkness is increasing and there is more daylight than darkness. Autumn: Darkness is increasing and there is more darkness than daylight.
